Le Mesnil Gonfroy is an enchanting 6 bedroom 4 bathroom farmhouse located in the peaceful Norman countryside and just a 20 minute drive from beautiful sandy beaches.

This stunning ancient honey coloured stone farmhouse is set on one acre of mature gardens with lawns leading to the heated swimming pool, with poolside terraces and outdoor furnishings. The front lawns have magnolia and cherry trees and the immediate countryside is surrounded by apple orchards and the famed Normandy cows that roam this beautiful countryside.

The farmhouse is overflowing with character, with grand wooden beams, a large stone fireplace and an enormous oak dining table. The 6 bedrooms are spacious and provide a high level of comfort sleeping up to 14 people. There are 2 Queen size bedrooms, 10 single beds and 4 modern bathrooms which makes this an ideal family holiday home.

The farmhouse is beautifully furnished and well appointed, with a fully functional kitchen and all the modern conveniences without losing its traditional Norman style.

Please note that Le Mesnil Gonfroy is fully wheelchair accessible and equipment such as shower chairs and mobile hoists are available at the house.


Le Mesnil Gonfroy is located in the peace and quiet of rural Normandy, 3 kilometres from the village of Hambye and close to all of Normandy's major sights and attractions.

The village of Hambye (population 1300) has several shops including a bank, two bakeries, a butcher, a supermarket and two bar/restaurants. The weekly market is held on Tuesday mornings.

The larger villages of Coutances with its magnificent cathedral and Villedieu les Poeles are both around 15 minutes from the house.

The famous and much visited village of le Mont Saint Michel is 40 minutes away, and Bayeux with its famous tapestry recording the events of 1066 and William the Conqueror is an hour from the house. The Normandy D-Day beaches are a further 15 minutes from Bayeux and a must see for any visitor to the Bayeux area are the American, British and German War cemeteries, located in the villages surrounding Bayeux.

The city of Caen (population 110,000) is the largest town in the region and is an hour away. It is a charming place to visit with its historic buildings, parks, gardens and excellent shopping.



Ferry ports at Caen and Cherbourg are around a 1 hour 30 minute drive.

Rennes airport is a 1 hour 30min drive and has flights throughout France. Caen railway station has TGV services to and from Paris.
